Youth workshops
Youth workshops offer a variety of training and job
opportunities for young people in Oulu aged 17–24.
The aim of the workshops is to help young people to
realise their individual plans, to promote employment among
the young and to make it easier to apply for studies.
The workshops are intended for unemployed youth with no
vocational training, or for those with vocational training
but no work experience.
Youth Workshop Wieteri (2008–2011)
Youth Workshop Wieteri helps you find your way into suitable
education and work. The workshop’s competent tutors help you
plan your future. You can learn about different professions
and various education and work opportunities and find out
how to seek employment and apply to educational institutes.
The workshop also gives you the chance to learn Finnish and
provides you information on Finnish culture and living in
Finland. The workshop lasts from four to six months. Daily
attendance (Mon to Fri, six hours a day) is required.
You can apply to Wieteri if you meet the following criteria:
you are an immigrant, you are between the ages of 17 and 25,
you do not hold a vocational qualification or a job and you
are eligible for the Labour Market Subsidy. To apply, please
