During the summer term, 1 June to 31 August 2010, most daycare centres will be open until midsummer and after the break, open their doors again in the beginning of August.

The following daycare centres will be open also from 28 June to 1 August 2010. (If daycare is required, please fill in a new application)

• Catchment area 1: Sampola, Rajakylä (extended opening hours as required)
• Catchment area 2: Myllyoja, Tenavalinna, Mellenius (on Tenavalinna premises, alternating care /extended opening hours as required)
• Catchment area 3: Merikoski, Allinpuisto, Lassi (alternating care)

Playgroup activities will not be available between 1 June and 31 August 2010.
(toddler groups, structured early education groups, and family groups)

Playgroup activities will start again 1 September 2010. Please, fill in an electronic application for the term starting 1 September 2010 at http://www.ouka.fi/sote/paivahoito/haku/index.htm

All families with children in daycare will be enquired in writing by 5 May 2010 about their need for daycare services between 1 June and 31 August 2010.
All children requiring daycare due to his or her parents’ work, study, or similar commitments, will be provided care between 28 June and 1 August 2010.

Compensation for summer break

If you organise your child's care between 1 June and 31 August 2010 for at least six consecutive weeks, no fee will be charged for the period. (Act on Social Welfare and Health Care Fees 20.3.2003 Section 49)

Parents with children in a daycare centre or family day care are entitled to the compensation.
