The nine health centres in Oulu provide services for
residents of the district. Each health centre has its own
service number for making appointments with a doctor or
nurse. You can
search for your local health centre based on
your street address.
In the evenings and at night-time (from 4 pm to 8 am) and
during weekends and public holidays, services are provided
through the Oulu Region joint emergency duty service (Oulu
University Hospital, entrance A1). Before seeking help, you
should first telephone the health advice number on 08 315
2655. Calls are answered 24 hours a day.
To make a laboratory or child welfare clinic appointment,
please telephone the joint appointment line on 08 558 44355.
To be eligible for laboratory tests you must have a doctor’s
(not a private or occupational healthcare doctor) referral
and an appointment.
If all lines are busy you can leave a message. All
messages and callback requests are answered as soon as
possible.
The joint X-ray facility for all healthcare centres is
located in building A at
Kontinkangas. Opening hours: Mon–Wed from 8 am to 4 pm,
Thu from 9 am to 4 pm and Fri from 8 am to 3 pm, tel. 08 558
45744. You must have a referral for all tests.
