The City
Art Museum and the
Northern Ostrobothnia Museum produce high quality
exhibitions, and their permanent collections are interesting
calling cards of their own areas.
Cultural Centre Valve produces cultural services in
close co-operation with other art and culture organisations
and associations as well as with artists. Dance, film,
photography and children and young people’s culture are the
main elements.
Valve belongs to a national network of children’s culture
centres called
Taikalamppu (Magic Lamp). The network’s main task is
developing children’s culture. In the network, Valve’s task
is to develop children’s film education as well as
children’s literature, creative writing and drama for
children. Valve also participates in the EuNet ART network.
Science
Centre Tietomaa is a great experience for people of all
ages. The exhibition themes at Tietomaa change annually. The
theme exhibitions present technique and different fields of
science in a fascinating and entertaining way.
